The Creative Habits Lab: A structured hour to build a consistent creative morning routine.

According to Marshall Goldsmith in The Earned Life, “Structure is the most effective tool we have to repair and renew our lives.” I wholeheartedly agree. I LOVE structure and I LOVE helping people incorporate good habits into their lives. This is why I’ve created the Creative Habits Lab!

Who: Artists and non-artists alike who want to jump-start and/or create a consistent, daily habit that includes a creative practice, writing, meditating, or visualizing.

What: A structured virtual accountability group that helps build a consistent creative routine.

When: Weekdays, 7:30 - 8:30 a.m.

The Creative Habits Lab meets (virtually) every weekday morning from 7:30 – 8:30 a.m. eastern time. We start the meeting with a brief check-in to share what activity we’ve each chosen for the day. We then mute our mics, leave our cameras on (mostly), and work on our activity simultaneously – working solo, but together to create just enough accountability and engagement to follow through on our intentions. Finally, we close the meeting with a debrief and celebration.

I hold the consistency and structure so you can more easily build your new routine. I will make sure we start and end on time and that everyone gets a chance to check-in and debrief. I will always be there to hold the space and to celebrate our daily progress and commitment. And finally, I will ask that everyone limit their activities to one of the following: creative/art making, creative "play", writing (stream-of-consciousness style like morning pages, journaling, gratitude lists, etc.), visualization, or meditating.
